Monoprint Series 4 (Drift)
Borrows more heavily from Western paper marbling — carrageenan size to thicken the bath, alum wash to mordant the paper. The thickened surface allows inks to be shaped and directed with stylus work and alcohol. Pairs are torn and printed in sequence as near-diptychs.

With more stability using size, I could slow down and work with more color and deliberate composition. Change a little, step back and observe, think, change some more. These felt slower and farther away — more oceanic and topological. Currents, pools, coastlines forming on their own. I leaned into that. With the addition of mordant on paper, the additional colors really popped.
